Keng: How many costumes do you need?
Sha: I think you should ask, how many BELLAS do I need.
Keng: - (rolled his eyes and left)
My costumes were all sprawling on the floor, all needing a new owner. Believe it or not, most of them have only seen the daylight once or never at all. Alright, I admit I am quite a costume fanatic and I probably own more costumes than cheorographies. ( That reminds me: I had better work on my drum solo, it has been left hanging for way too long)
Anyhow, I writing this cause I have lost 2 BELLAs in a week. I can't blame anyone since I am located on the wrong side of the planet.
First was the ebay's red BELLA that belonged to Michelle and the other was a green one on bhuz... Alimah and Stacey beat me to that. Though I must admit that 35.5" belt is probably the smallest I have ever considered and I am not sure how that belt is going to work on me. But, my BELLA motto : " buy first, talk later" reminded me on how much I need a new BELLA... or rather, ANOTHER new BELLA.
Finally my desire for BELLA was so immersed that I called Keng.
Sha: Hey, maybe we should go somewhere else for hols.
Keng: Shanghai? We can do a Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing trip.
Sha: Errrr...... how about Belgium?
Keng: Belgium? Yeah, we can meet up with John and .... hey, I thot you dislike long flights?
Sha: Well... there is a BELLA store in Belgium and we can always drop by just to take a look...

Torn
I am fickle, yet sentimental.
Conflicting ya?
There are endless pretty costumes on bhuz and ebay every day. Even when I thought I already had my eyes set on one, something new would take my attention away in the next moment. Before I know it, a third would appear out of nowhere. This vicious attraction could happen all within a day. A "promisicous" addict who can never have enough new costumes.
Despite the exciting emergence of pretty newbie, subconsciously I am on a constant lookout for costumes that I had once owned. Currently, I am seeking a Madame Abla trademark costume- heavily sequinned with scalloped edges and beaded with generous loops. And I thought I would never miss my old costume... once again I was wrong.
While waiting for Turquoise International to get back on my Madame Abla request, my eyes were straying on a red BELLA on ebay.

Another BELLA?
I could feel the adrenalin rush again.
In a couple of hours, I am heading off somewhere and I am still quite undecided.
The Brown Fuschia BELLA was on the net for sometime and there hasn't been any takers. Is it a sign that it is meant for me?

BELLA Extravenganza
I am into a BELLA craze.
When I sold my purple BELLA bra belt set sometime ago, I didn't think that I would have regretted doing so. Afterall, there will always be new ones and my presumption is that the new is always better than old.
Quite contrary to what I believed, the recent BELLA collections did not quite catch my fancy. I pretty much still miss the old BELLA designs with lots of detailing work... I mean, if I had to pay a premium for BELLA, I would expect lots of details, not just loads and loads of fringe.
My BELLA craze started when I chanced upon an dark green presumably BELLA set. Well, I say "presumably" cause seller bought this 4 years ago and the BELLA logo is not there anymore... not surprising as the owner might have changed the lining within the 4 years of ownership. The details and the AB stones on the bra were eye-catching-- typically an old-BELLA.
So you could imagine my disappointment when seller sold it locally.
Since then, I have adopted a "buy first, talk later" attitude when I sees a BELLA up for sale.
In less than 2 weeks, I have 2 BELLAs sitting at home.
Purple velvet BELLA set. From Bhuz, used to be Alimah's collection and later sold to Jewelsdance and me finally.
Comes with many "parts"-- sleeves, neck piece and hair band.

Orange Purple BELLA. I was a little apprehensive at first cause the orange looks dull on the auction.
Glad, I didn't let it go.
Comes with sleeves and hair band.

While I am beaming at my BELLAs, I kinda realised that I have run out of costume closet space. LOL. Time to sell.

SOLD- modified red costume $225
I bought this set for $400 earlier this year. However, this costume set never really fit me since it arrived at my doorstep. Since I badly needed a red costume with 2 slits for a fusion dance in a month's time, I made do with whatever I had. I have performed 3 times in this costume and I probably won't need it anymore.
I had quite a bit of additions onto the costume itself, without removing any part of the existing design. The additions were all hand-sewn onto the costume, no glue was used. Thus, you may remove them easily. Read below for details:
Bra: Cup big C/D underbust 36" ( I have added red lycra around the bra with crystal chains at intervals. I have sewn the cups closer and lined the top with lacy ruffles. The existing halter bra strap is hidden behind the red lycra. I did not remove the original design, only add on. You can undo the additions easily.)
Upper Hips: 34-37" ( elastic )
Lower Hips: 37-40" (elastic)
Length of skirt: 37.5", double front slits
( I have hand-sewn lacy ruffles along the edge of the skirt. I did not remove the beadings on the skirt edge but they are currently hidden by the lacy ruffles. Once again, you can remove the ruffles easily)
1 arm band, 1 arm band with sleeves ( there is a little hole that needs mending- see pic), 1 hair band
Shipping to US and worldwide is $35 and payment by paypal. I'll declare full value of costume for insurance. I'll not be liable for custom duties.
View picture for details ( I have inserted a beige veil inside the skirt so that you can see the slits):
SOLD! Tan costume with AB stones $450

SOLD!
Added 2 pictures- one with me and the full view is a model.
Tan costume with large AB stones-- very sparkly and glam.
I have worn this twice for performance and twice for photo shoot. The costume is as good as new.
Bra: Cup B/C, currently padded, underbust is 32" There used to be tassels hanging along the underbra. I have removed them leaving only a trail in the middle.
Skirt: fits a 38" hips, Length is 38". There are cut out on the side lined with crystal chain.
Comes with 2 sleeves. The chiffon drape on the sleeves has been removed. There are a matching necklace, hair band and veil.
See picture for details.
Shipping worldwide and US is $40 and payment by paypal only. Please note that I'll declare full value of item for insurance purpose. I will not be liable for custom duties.
