PINK

I had my reservations when I first set my eyes upon PINK.

Selling at almost half the price of the other costumes, I thought there must be a catch somewhere. It has been 2 weeks since PINK was listed for sale and there was no taker despite its attractive price.

Hmm..

I had to admit that I was totally captivated by PINK though. A conservative yet playful beauty- it conceals a woman's modesty with elegantly crafted sequinned mesh, parading in barbie pink that was childlike and striking. I thought it was quite a perfect concoction.

I waited.

Finally, my patience wore out and I emailed the seller for more pictures. I scrutinized every bits and corners, searching for "the catch". I guess I had to find the reason that justify the price. But, there was none. In fact, I was overwhelmed by the details that I bought it instantly.

The wait was long and unbearable, especially so when you know that it is a steal. You just wanna confirm if the steal is a good one or bad one.

So here, presenting PINK....

Bra: Cup B, underbust 34" , unpadded

I bought this direct from Dahlal. However, the bra cup is rather small and unflattering on me. I preferred a bra that provides more coverage. Due to high shipping charges, I have decided to list this up for sale instead of shipping back to Dahlal. But if there are no takers after 3 days, I will return this back to Dahlal.

SOLD- Modified Red costume - $225

I bought this set for $400 earlier this year. However, this costume set never really fit me since it arrived at my doorstep. Since I badly needed a red costume with 2 slits for a fusion dance in a month's time, I made do with whatever I had. I have performed 3 times in this costume and I probably won't need it anymore.

I had quite a bit of additions onto the costume itself, without removing any part of the existing design. The additions were all hand-sewn onto the costume, no glue was used. Thus, you may remove them easily. Read below for details:

Bra: Cup big C/D underbust 36" ( I have added red lycra around the bra with crystal chains at intervals. I have sewn the cups closer and lined the top with lacy ruffles. The existing halter bra strap is hidden behind the red lycra. I did not remove the original design, only add on. You can undo the additions easily.)

Upper Hips: 32-35"

Lower Hips: 35-40"

Length of skirt: 38", double front slits
( I have hand-sewn lacy ruffles along the edge of the skirt. I did not remove the beadings on the skirt edge but they are currently hidden by the lacy ruffles. Once again, you can remove the ruffles easily)

1 arm band, 1 arm band with sleeves ( there is a little hole that needs mending- see pic), 1 hair band

an old "flame"

An unexpected find on my PC- an old costume.



One of the most expensive costume I ever had was kept for less than 1 month.

A translucent mesh skirt with slit, covered with delicately sewn sequinns and beads in modern floral design. It came with a fabric soft belt, eygptian half cup bra, armlets, a shoulder shawl and a mid-section piece. Very pretty but extremely delicate. Indeed, I have never attempted to dance in them.

Needless to say, I sold it in less than a month of ownership.

Bra: Cup B, currently padded, underbust 34"

Belt: 38" long. I intend to replace the lining but run out of cloth. So I have left about 20 cm long of the existing lining unstitched.

Matching hair band, 2 armlets and 2 anklets. ( 1 armlet and 1 anklet have been modified)

I am going to sell this cheap cause I have noticed a few beads falling off now and then but never really found out the exact spot cause the pattern is irregular. There should be a few loose beads but does not affect the overall design. The costume come with 2 anklets and 2 armlets. However, two of them have been modified for other uses and may not be used as its intented purpose. See picture. I have also shorten the bra strap by cutting off one of the ends and removing some of the beadings. See picture.

Skirt will be included with an additional $20. Full circle double layer skirt. Length is 37".

More costumes?

I am currently having a shopping spree for costumes.

Don't ask why. Never ask a woman why they need more than a pair of shoes. The same goes for costumes.

Since most, in fact all of my costumes are bought online. There is no way I could try to determine its fit. So chances are, I buy them rather blindly, based primarily on the measurements given by seller.

If I am lucky, the costumes will fit like glue. Most of the times, I need slight alteration. Costumes that requires too much sewing and pulling apart are often put up for sale. I don't wanna risk pulling out certain parts and realised that it still does not fit. My main occupation is not a seamtress.

I am expecting 2 more costumes coming in. One is green bra and belt with attached skirt and the other is a blue costume set.

I am also comtemplating on another pink set.

I am into pink this season.
